Everything you need to enroll your student in Loomis Union School District.

Whether you are new to Loomis Union School District or a returning student, the information below will help guide you through the registration process.

Before you Register

Before you register, find the information that applies to you. 

  • New students who reside within the Loomis Union School District boundaries may enroll in their assigned resident school by completing the online registration.

    When completing the online registration, the system will automatically assign your student to their resident school based on your address.

    Would you like to know your resident school before completing registration? Please see our Street Listing to determine which school serves your address.

    Please note: Transitional Kindergarten is not offered at all Loomis District schools. Placement for eligible TK students is based on space availability.

  • If you reside within the Loomis Union School District attendance boundary and would like your child to attend a district school other than their assigned home school, you may request an Intradistrict Transfer.

    Open Enrollment: January 2–31

    During Open Enrollment, please submit the Intradistrict Attendance Agreement along with the appropriate grade-level registration packet for processing.

    Registration packets for TK–8th Grade are available on the Registration Information & Forms tab.

    Please note: Intradistrict Transfer requests are not currently being accepted for Transitional Kindergarten.

    Notification Timeline

    • Applications received during Open Enrollment: Notifications of acceptance or denial will be sent by the end of May.
    • Applications received after Open Enrollment: Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Notifications may take up to two weeks.
    • Applications received during summer recess: Processing may be delayed 2–4 weeks, and notification may not occur until after the start of the school year.
    • Applications received after the start of the school year: Requests will only be processed if they meet the criteria outlined in the Board's transfer policy.

    Intra-District Transfer Form

    *The district does not provide transportation for intra/inter-district students.

  • If you reside outside the Loomis Union School District attendance boundary and would like your child to attend a Loomis Union School District school, you must first obtain a signed Interdistrict Transfer Release Form from your district of residence.

    Submit the signed release form along with a Loomis Union School District Registration Packet to the LUSD District Office for processing.

    Important: LUSD does not provide transportation for students attending through an intradistrict or interdistrict transfer.

    For the 2026–27 school year, no new interdistrict applications will be accepted after November 20, 2026.

    Open Enrollment for 2027–28: January 2–31, 2027

    Applications received after January 31 will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Required Documents

Please have the following documents ready before beginning the registration process. 

Proof of Residency

One document from each category below is required. Both documents must show the parent/guardian's name and current residence address.

Please note: Initial sales agreements are not accepted. Home purchase closing documents are required.

Immunization Requirements

​​​​​​Please review the California student immunization requirements before completing your student's enrollment. Additional resources are available below:

Please ensure your student's immunization records are current and ready to be submitted as part of the enrollment process.

Proof of Age

Please provide one document verifying your student's age and legal name.

Acceptable documents may include:

  • Birth certificate
  • Passport
  • Baptismal certificate
  • Court order establishing the student's age
  • Other legally acceptable documentation

 

Can't Provide Proof of Residency?

If you reside within the LUSD attendance boundary but cannot provide the required proof of residency documents, you may complete an Affidavit of Residency.
